Hi Dolls
You may already be aware of an amazing blog called Letters to Antoinette. If not, I urge you to check it out. Its endlessly inspiring, poetically written and beautifully shot by a wonderful lady called, surprise surprise, Antoinette. She is basically everything I have always wanted to be – stylish, petite and beautiful on the inside and the outside.
I always find her posts very moving, as they frequently inspire me to think about situations in my own life and re-evaluate how I feel and what I could do differently.
These days going out for a night on the town is getting to be an increasingly rare occurrence for me. The days where I was out partying twice a week are long gone, and now I go for quality over quantity! Of course my favourite part of going out is always the getting ready anyway.
I don’t always have the time, but if I do, I love to have a long pamper session before a night out. This weekend being a Bank Holiday, I had the time to do just that, so I thought I’d do a little post showing all the stuff I do to make my night special and what products get me geared up to go out.
So…. another Bank Holiday weekend is upon us! They seem to be coming thick and fast at the moment. Last weekend was super-busy with lots of family duties, so I was looking forward to some indulgence this time around.
On Saturday evening, we had tickets for an event at one of our favourite venues. The Riverbank is an amazing restaurant, bar and deli near where we live. It’s very cool and classy, the food is perfection as well, and its beautifully set on the banks of the River Trent – if you’re in the Nottingham area I urge you to check it out!
In the evening, it holds all kinds of music events, and its Bank Holiday parties have become legendary. They always sell out, so we made sure to book tickets in advance this time!
Hello dollfaces
It’s your friendly local shopaholic calling in, giddy with the special type of excitement that only deliveries of new shoes and other goodies can bring!
I’ve found some lovely pieces this month that it would have been quite rude not to treat myself to, really!
So I thought I would share the love and do a little posting showing you what I’ve bought this month.
The May Glossybox landed on my doorstep on Saturday, but this is the first time I've had to write it up - my little nephew had his christening on Sunday, and we were busy the day before helping to take care of him and my niece, a couple of house viewings, and before I knew it the weekend has passed by in a blur!
I was so insanely excited about this Glossybox, because they'd been sending teaser emails for weeks saying that it was going to be an exclusive brand collaboration and that there were five full sized products. All hyped up and psyched up, I ripped the box open as soon as I got my hands on it.
The warmer weather has finally hit, and I'm loving the chance to dress up in outfits that don't require 1) thick, black opaques 2) 17 layers or 3) a massive winter coat. I feel the cold a lot, so in the winter I must admit style can go out of the window and I can begin to resemble the Michelin Man!
I've seen a lot of pictures recently of various Kardashians rocking all-white ensembles, and I must admit the style has caught my eye:
The range starts from just £1 and the most expensive item is only £12, but it was championed by top celebrity make-up artists, including Nariman Pouranpir - who does Anna Wintour’s slap.
Their big claim was to have formulas, ingredients and durability to rival the prestige brands.
So of course I, and every other beauty blogger, sat up and took notice!
Hi Dolls!
I hope you are all well?
Today’s post is really going to be something quite personal.
It’s a post about my life, my dreams, my problems and what I’m going to do to break the negative cycle I’ve been stuck in lately. So if you don’t like these types of posts, stop now and I promise I’ll be back to beauty shortly!

Lime inscribed bangle - MaxandChloe.com
Cat's eye shades - Von Zipper
Dizzy Viper Snakeskin clutch bag - Opening Ceremony
Black and lime patent leather 'Thistle' sandals - Jimmy Choo
Coral lipstick - Tory Burch
Such a luxurious holiday calls for a spot of fine dining, so let's go to Javier's this evening.
Inspired by the elegant, Asian fusion decor, the ideal dress is this amazing Art Deco inspired shift. Add a flash of colour with this lime inlay bracelet and sculptural, multi-strap stilettos.
This graphic, laquered clutch pics up on the amazing patterned imagery, and is just big enough to stash your cash, this luminous coral lipstick and a pair of glamourous, cats eye shades inspired by all the starlets of the 50s and 60s who have visited Las Vegas.

Red lego brick clutch - Etsy.com
Smokey eyeshadow palette - Laura Mercier

Of course, it just wouldn't be Vegas if we didn't go and have a cheeky flutter in the stunning Poker Room. This is my favourite game to play, because I reckon my poker face is pretty good!
You can get hearts racing and build up to a royal flush in this racy, black white and red ensemble.
Start with an on-trend black mesh pencil skirt - demure but with with a sheeky flash of leg through the sheer panels.
Pair it with a graphic, structured white cut out crop top, and a bright red, textured clutch to add a pop of colour. And guess what? The clutch is handmade entirely out of Lego - how cool is that?
Let the star of the show be these amazing heels that would definitely make you Queen of Hearts!
Make-up wise, go for the smoulder with smokey eyes and cat-like eyeliner - perfect for staring them down...

Metallic camisole - River Island
Denim pencil skirt - shopmrsh.com
Lace brogues - modcloth.com
Cross-body bag - Forzieri
Next, we'll be going for a spot of afternoon tea at the absolutely gorgeous Jean Phillippe Patisserie!
You'll want to wear something loose fitting but still smart, so that you can sample all those cakes and pastries without worrying!
So I chose a loose, flowing metallic camisole with on-trend 90's spagetti straps, to reflect the cool, futuristic chrome interior.
This is paired with a denim pencil skirt that strikes the perfect balance between smart and casual. Some cream lacy brogues add a ladylike, elegent touch and pair up with a snappy peach cross-body messenger bag and a blue, cream and gold enamel bangle that mirrors the sculptural lines of the patisserie. More tea, vicar?

Hi Dolls!
Today I'll be posting a series of fashion looks, all showing different outfits I'd back for a trip to the fabulous Aria Hotel in the one and only Las Vegas. I'm taking part in the #MyVegasStyle challenge.
I've never been to Vegas, although of course its on my bucket list, like any other person! But I've dreamed of its glamour, decadence and Rat Pack, star-drenched history many a time. In a setting like the Aria, you'd just have to take the chance to dress up, even during the day.
So here is my number one outfit, to spend the day hanging out at the Aria - white shorts keep a glamourous but dressy vibe. I'd pair them with this cheeky little Elvis t-shirt as an homage to the King and his favourite city!
Colour pop with true blue strappy wedges that will add spice but still be good for walking around in, and a bright coral satchel to hold all your essentials. Top things off when it gets a bit chillier in the evening with this gorgeous tan leather motocycle jacket - an homage to the rock n roll spirit of Las Vegas. Then give the final flourish with a nod to the breath-taking sculpture at the Aria, by reflecting it in your architectural cobalt necklace.

Hello my lovelies!
A really quick post on my weekend Face of the Day. It's all sunshine and showers outside at the moment, but I decided to bring the spring with some fresh pinks for cheeks and lips.
Gah. I can't seem to break the hold Primark has on me! Every month, I seem to swear myself off going in there and every month, lo and behold, I'm back. I personally blame the blogosphere.
I keep seeing all these amazing things people find and Primark hauls are one of my favourite types of post to read, because they're so accessible. So it's almost inevitable I'll find myself in there!
Perhaps I should just stop trying to justify myself and embrace my guilty Primarni love?

Well, of course I popped in but I was very restrained this time, I only got the three items and then one essential I needed to replace, how’s that for restraint?
‘Ways to Wear It’ is a post where I take one piece of clothing and look at different ways people have styled it up.
I’ve said before that I can be a bit basic when it comes to my style, so I rely on Pinterest, blogs and ‘street style’ features in magazines to inspire me and challenge me to get creative, both with new pieces and with stuff I already own.
Its amazing to see how different people can take the same item and give it a completely fresh spin.
Today, I’m looking at an item that seems to have swept the fashion blogs lately - the white, oversized ‘Celine’ t-shirt.
So, I recently ditched my Birchbox subscription after being a bit underwhelmed, and signed up to its (slightly more famous) rival, Glossybox.
I follow bloggers that get both - and a few others - so each month I see what comes in them, and I've been quite envious of some of the Glossybox stuff! I chose Birchbox originally because it had more high-end brands, but I've been disappointed with some of the stuff, and the sample sizes aren't always the most generous.
It was time to switch. I ordered at the end of the month (payday for me...) so that meant that they sent me the April box, with May's still to come- which I'm already excited about, after receiving an email from them saying that May is a brand collaboration and will feature no less that four full-sized products....who do you think it will be?

Hello my lovelies!
Hope you've all been enjoying the Bank Holiday so far? I've been having a lovely, relaxed one, just chilling out and spending time with Seb.
Yesterday we braved IKEA to pick up a new chest of drawers and some bits and pieces for the house. We got there first thing because I can't be dealing with the huge crowds of people. Surprisingly, we came out without being on the verge of divorce, which is unusual- what is it about Swedish flat pack furniture that brings out the monster in me?!
