OOTD: White and Gold

Sunday 18 May 2014

The warmer weather has finally hit, and I'm loving the chance to dress up in outfits that don't require 1) thick, black opaques 2) 17 layers or 3) a massive winter coat. I feel the cold a lot, so in the winter I must admit style can go out of the window and I can begin to resemble the Michelin Man!

I've seen a lot of pictures recently of various Kardashians rocking all-white ensembles, and I must admit the style has caught my eye:

Those girls really love all-white outfits, don't they? I think there is something quite luxurious about all white - it seems to imply that you aren't a regular peasant that spills stuff down you and has to do their own laundry!

White jeans can be tricky to style without looking like a glamourous gran, but pairing them with other white items has a big impact and is a really fresh spin on them.

Last weekend, the husband and I went out for a nice lunch at a lovely river side restaurant. So, I decided to put together my own all-white take on these looks.

White skinny jeans - Mango
White sheer stripe slouchy t-shirt - Primark

Nude leather and rose-gold skinny belt - Primark

Nude patent 'Amore' court shoes - Ted Baker

Nude leather clutch with gold postman's lock - PopKors

Rose gold boyfriend watch - Micheal Kors

I started with the Kardashian favourite - white skinny jeans! This pair are fairly flattering because the fabric has a nice amount of stretch. Then I layered in a fine-knit white t-shirt. The slouchy shape works to balance the tight silhouette on the bottom half. This t-shirt was a total Primark bargain - check out the rest of the stuff I got in my Spring Primark haul post.

Then I added in some nude and gold accessories to give it an extra lift - this amazing nude leather and rose gold metal belt was another Primark bargain from some time ago. It's finds like that which make me keep going back in! This matched in perfectly with my soft nude leather clutch, which came from PopKors, one of my favourite bag boutiques. A couple of trusty classics -  my gold boyfriend watch and nude patent courts, finished the look off.

I loved the all white look, even though I'm a total mess magnet and its not the most practical thing for me. I'd like to try it for a night out soon, so watch this space!

Have you tried an all white look yet?

  1. Ooh I love your take. I totally know what you mean, there is definitely something about all-white. I think it can be quite business-like, crisp, everything is instantly a little more dressy. The Kardashians have the bods to pull white on white off….I'm working my way there. Also loving rose gold at the moment AND I'm having a bit of a thing for the Michael Kors watches this season so tick, tick. Ahhh the perfect outfit. Hope you had the perfect lunch to match it. 1. Glad you liked the outfit¬ Yes, I agree on the all-white front, I'm far to messy to pull it off regularly though :) I spill stuff down myself all the time! And lunch was lovely, thank you xx
