It seems unreal that July is almost over already, and there’s just one month standing between me and motherhood!
Wow. In so many ways, I don’t think I’ll ever feel ready for what’s about to come, but in others I’m getting impatient.
I already feel so close to this little person, to think I’m four or five weeks away from laying eyes on him is incredibly exciting, daunting and brilliant. It’s like the world’s most meaningful blind date!
This month seemed to be a lot of routine un-fun stuff, like getting new tyres and the car serviced and MOT’d, and going on endless missions to buy nursery furniture, plus dentist appointments, midwives appointments, classes at the hospital…. Its been such a ‘grown up’ month. #
I have been trying to tick things off my Bump to Baby Bucket List as well, and dealing with feeling generally less active and more like a beached whale!

Another month gone already! Where is this year going?
Plenty of purchases this month, but a lot of them were items for my hospital bag. The baby could come anytime from next month, so I wanted to make sure I was ready, and at the start of the month I made a special trip into town to stock up on items for my stay in hospital – and of course to use afterwards. So you’ll see a lot of travel bags and other items!
There’s something about a dressing area that’s a magical space. Its where we transform ourselves, spend some ‘me-time’ and where all the hair and make-up magic happens.
I’m fascinated with other people’s make-up set ups and storage, and can literally spend hours down the rabbit hole on Pinterest or YouTube looking at what other people use to store their collections. It brings together perfectly two obsessions of mine – organisation and beauty products.
I was on a make-up group recently where we were all swapping pictures of our make-up desks, so I thought I’d do a post about mine.
Everyone does it differently, and everyone’s collection differs vastly in size.
I probably have what my husband (and some more rational people) would class as too much make-up, but it actually seems nothing compared to some of the elaborate set-ups I’ve seen other people share, with multiple drawers crammed full of goodies.
Whether mine will expand to that point is anyone’s guess, but I doubt it.
34 weeks has come around frighteningly quickly, I’m now only three weeks away from full term! Eeek!
The nerves and the discomfort have both started to kick in this week, and suddenly it all feels very imminent.
At the moment I’m just in an almost constant state of physical discomfort. Sitting down for too long hurts. Standing up for too long hurts. Lying down for too long hurts – you literally can’t win!
Its making sleeping very difficult indeed. Not only is it near impossible to get off to sleep in a comfortable position at night with melon sized bump attached to your front, but staying asleep is also impossible as everything becomes uncomfortable very quickly.
Like most beauty addicts, I’m a massive fan of Charlotte Tilbury makeup.
The beautiful formulations, the gorgeous packaging – and the lady herself, who I would die to have my makeup done by!
But despite being a big fan, and lingering over her counter every time I paid a visit to Selfridges, I didn’t actually own much from the range at all.
As part of my Bump to Baby Bucket list, I’d resolved to treat myself to some real wish-list products before the baby comes, while I still have a disposable income, so I decided to pick up a couple of the lipstick shades, which we’ll look at here.
So as you may have seen, my lovely husband Sebastian treated me to the very gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff ‘Mini Mac’ bag for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and in celebration of that, I’ve been inspired to do an updated ‘What’s In My Bag?’ post.
I’ve been obsessed with reading these posts for years, they never get old for me – I guess I’m just hopelessly nosy like that!
I wanted this bag for quite a while, and it didn’t disappoint.
The ‘Mini Mac’ is definitely a smaller bag, but with careful planning you can fit enough in to make it work for daytime.
