Review: Streamcream Like A Dream

Friday 19 September 2014

Couldn’t resist a little bit of alliteration there in the title!

But, srsly dolls, I’ve just swapped my moisturiser for a little beauty that I wanted to tell you about.

I’ve never really found a day cream I loved before, I’ve just been using whatever caught my eye. But that may have changed now I’ve found this.

As usual, it started with a blog. Over at Beauty & Le Chic, she has amazing skin, and when she said this was her choice of cream, I had to try it out for myself. I haven’t been disappointed!

Steamcream can be used on face, body and hands and its very rich and nourishing, but without leaving any greasy residue.

Winner of numerous awards, this virtuous little beauty is natural, organic, fair trade, vegan friendly and cruelty-free – its practically wearing a halo!

The creams are handmade with natural ingredients – Lavendar essential oil, orange flower water, sweet almond oil, rose absolute, orange blossom absolute and organic jojoba oil. Doesn’t that sound like a beautiful blend? It smells fantastic, like a luxury spa treatment where you can really smell those aromatherapy oils, so the minute you open the tin, you’re put in that relaxing mindset.

The product is made with cold-pressed steam, which is a process that preserves the purity of the ingredients. As a result, its lightweight and really easily absorbed, making it a good base for make-up.

One of the best parts, of course, is the gorgeous retro tin it comes in. These are available in a huge range of designs that change seasonally, and there have been plenty of designer collaborations, so that collecting the tins has become something of an obsession with some bloggers, as I’m sure it will with me.

My current tin is called ‘Sakura’ (they all have names) and is covered with a beautiful pink cherry blossom design, which makes it a joy to keep on my dressing table.

Steamcream works wonders on really dry and damaged skin, so although I’m enjoying it now, it will come into its own in the cold winter months. The fact that its designed to use all over also makes it perfect for taking with you on a trip away – the tin is so portable and can replace taking a separate face cream, hand cream and body lotion.

It’s a really high quality product and I’m so glad that I’ve tried it.  I used to only buy moisturisers if they contained anti-aging goodies or an SPF (which would still be a good addition to this). But now that I’m using a serum and a separate sunshield cream anyway, I can just concentrate on a product that delivers beautifully moisturised skin – which this does!

Have you tried Steamcream yet? What did you think?
