Well hello there!
I skipped my usual 'Life, Lately' post for August - the month seemed to run out before I was ready for it - and although we're not far into September, I'm going to post now about the month so far.
It's been a very strange few weeks. As you might have noticed from me mentioning it IN EVERY POST, I'm now 9 months pregnant and due literally any minute, and time has become a very strange concept. Its both dragging and rushing by, and individual days feel a bit meaningless at the moment.
Despite my current condition, we have actually been quite active lately, so here's a look at what we've been up to.....
Well, its been a while since I shared a Face of the Day on here, mainly because my daily make-up tends to be pretty much the same most days, and I haven't had a night out since I got pregnant, so there hasn't been much incentive to mix it up.
This weekend was my sister in law's wedding - you can see my post about my outfit here. It was a beautiful day, really full of love and joy. I'll admit I was a little worried about going at over 9 months pregnant (my baby was five days overdue at this point), so I had to take it quite easy.
Feeling like a beached whale, I wanted to compensate by getting my glamour on, and it was the chance I'd been waiting for to go all out with my make-up look!
I created a look based around glowing skin, a brown smokey eye and a neutral lip that was designed to work for the church ceremony and the evening reception. Here's what I did...

Outfit of the day posts have been pretty much non-existent since I became pregnant - mainly because I've been basically living out of the same few pairs of maternity leggings, loose vest tops and stretchy dresses for the past few months!
I've also been staying home much more, so there hasn't really been much occasion to dress up.
This weekend was my sister in law's wedding though, so I had to up my game! I'm currently 9 months pregnant and overdue to have my baby. It is extremely difficult to feel glamorous at this point.
I'm the size of a house, massively uncomfortable and more than a bit fed up. But I felt I needed to share this, just in case there is anyone else out there who's going to be a pregnant wedding guest and hasn't got a clue what to wear!
As you might know by now, I have a *slight* addiction to false lashes. I just love the wide-eyed appearance and amped up flutter they give, and I'm permanently on a quest to get dense, flirty Disney Princess style lashes.
Although I have tried permanent lash extensions before, I never get on with them. They seem to irritate my eyes and I hate not being able to get my face wet. As much as I love my make-up, I also love that clean feeling at the end of the day when its all off.
So my preference is to use strip lashes, and thankfully these have come a looooonnngg way since the bad old days when they were all plasticky and nylon looking.
My favourites are always Eylure because they're great quality, affordable and have a huge selection of styles, so whenever they launch anything new I'm always interested.
Hello beauties
Isn't it great when you find a dupe for an expensive product? There are plenty of sites out there dedicated to finding and testing cheaper alternatives for big-name products, which shows we all have a fascination with value.
Personally, I absolutely love a bargain as long as it performs. Equally, I don't mind spending more on a product that I know delivers, either. What I'm looking for is a great performance for the price point.
My holy grail mascara is Too Faced Better Than Sex. It's £19.00, which I think its worth, but there are times when you don't want or need to spend that amount. I love the fullness, volume and feathery soft finish it gives to my lashes, but could there be a drugstore dupe that would deliver identical results?
Have you heard about Glo & Ray? They're a hot new British cosmetic brand focused on bright colour, individual looks and professional beauty that will set hearts a-flutter for lovers of brands such as Illamasqua and Nars.
I'd seen a lot of buzz about them online, so I was delighted to get my hands on some of their most sought-after products to review - the Nebulae foundation, La Amo Creamy Matte lipstick and Wonderland gloss.
First impressions are great. All the products come in sleek black packaging that will look at home in any serious collection. But did they perform?
