Look Fantastic Review | October 2018

Monday 15 October 2018

October can be a little bit of a strange month with the clocks going back and the seasons changing.

I often find that I get a real energy low around this time of year - it's getting colder and darker but it's still too early to excited about the festive stuff.

In this lull, it's a good idea to go in for extra self-care and that's where a little treat like the Look Fantastic box can give you a pick me up. I've loved every single box I've had from them before.

Could they lift my post-summer blues this month?

Monu Night Renewal Complex

Who doesn't want to wake up with fresher, rejuvenated skin?

I'm certainly not feeling well rested and full of health at the moment, so a power night treatment the boosts the skin's elasticity is right up my street.

With Marine Collagen, the plumping complex smooths out fine lines, plumps up skin, and helps to prevent signs of ageing.

The skin has the most ability to restore itself at night, so this is the perfect product to capitalise on that.

Prai Throat & Decolletage Cream

Did you know that your neck ages faster than your face?

It's a bit of a pause for thought if, like me, you take great time and care over the skin of your face and not much to what comes below!

Mulberry, Saxifrage (huh?) and Grapeseed extracts brighten and magic away age spots in this smooth formula.

Promising to work on crepey skin and droopy jowls, this claims to deliver results in just seven days. While I don't have any of those problems yet, I do firmly believe that prevention is better than cure anyway.

Dr Lipp Elderberry Lip Tint

At the moment, despite my vast collection of lipsticks, I'm actually more preferring a lip balm. Partly because the colder temperatures are making my lips extra dry and partly because of their chuck on and go factor!

This super moisturising formula has a flattering sheer red tint that looks pretty on lips and dotted on cheeks.

Pixi Fresh Face Blush

After years of only using bronzer, I've recently fallen in love with blush. I love the youthful effect it has on my super tired skin, instantly making me look revved up. It's become a new favourite of mine, and Pixi is such a great brand.

The colour of this is absolutely beautiful, really natural, which is where I used to struggle with blushes. This botanical infused formula is ideal to perk up your skin and give a gentle, flattering flush.

Ahava Mineral Body Lotion

The Dead Sea is known for its fantastic density of natural, skin-friendly minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium and Ahava are the leading brand to harvest all that skin magic and channel it into their products.

This is a nice light formula that promises all day hydration in a swipe.

Talika Bubble Mask Bio Detox

I absolutely adore a good sheet mask and the bubbling ones are good fun.

The nourishing microbubbles and charcoal formula detox the skin, ubclogging blocked pores and revealing bright and glowing skin - a lovely little pick me up for my ritual Sunday bubble bath!

… all that and a copy of Elle magazine too. This was another box full of great products - perhaps a little less exciting than previous ones, but still one of the best boxes out there.
