#LFBeauty Box Review | April 2018

Sunday 6 May 2018

So, I’ve switched allegiances again! I do love beauty boxes - getting little treats through the post (makes a change from the water bill and a bunch of takeaway menus, right?), discovering brilliant new products, and always having more than enough travel size items for holidays and weekends away.

But all these boxes go through cycles of being alternately amazing and a bit of a disappointment, so I admit I regularly un-sub and re-sub, and I’m always on the hunt for blog reveals to help me decide which to order!

One box my blogging pals always seem to rave about is Look Fantastic, and it must be one of the few I haven’t already tried. When I saw the contents of the April box, I signed up quicker than you could say ‘beauty addict’. Here’s what tempted me…

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm

Emma Hardie is a big hitter in the world of luxury skin care, and I’ve heard so many adoring reviews of the Cleansing Balm, which is a hero product of the line. I’ve been tempted to try it myself, but it’s expensive so I’ve shelved the desire. So I’m super excited to get to try it here.

A luxurious daily cleanser, you massage this on to melt away makeup and grime. It claims to leave your face cleansed and your skin brighter and super-hydrated. I love the idea of Cleansing balms in general and at the moment I triple cleanse (using an oil to break down Makeup, Micellar water to remove it all and then a gentle face wash after), so could this be worthy of replacing one of my usual products?

Moringa is a highly potent anti-oxidant and a star ingredient. I like the fact that this is also a multi-tasker, as it can be used as an overnight facial treatment on breakouts. A fab addition to the box.

Pur Fully Charged Mascara

Although I know what my holy grail mascara is, it doesn’t stop me wanting to try all the new releases, and I am obsessed with getting my flutter on. This one seems like a truly innovative creation - it uses new magnetic technology in a Polymer Matrix that binds each lash in a positive electric charge - who could resist trying out something so space-age?

This technology delivers instant lift, volume and definition with a dramatic effect, and I can’t wait to test it out. I’ve got so many mascaras on the go that I’ve not had the chance to test it out yet, but if it's half as good as the promises, I’ll do a full review on it soon.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

It’s official - I’m obsessed with with GlamGlow, especially after the brilliance of their Glittermask (check out my review of that game-changer here). They produce that rare thing- skincare that actually lives up to to the hype. So to have another of their excellent masks to try was very appealing.

This treatment is designed to help clear and soothe problem skin - not normally an issue for me, but pregnancy hormones have changed that recently. It’s a blend of acids and oils designed to unclog and soothe pores, and you can use as a mask or as a topical treatment on blemishes.

Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute

French pharmacy brand Nuxe are one of the staples in my skincare routine - I rely on their facial sunscreen and their famous Huile Prodigieuse. So I already know that this is going to be good.

With Vegetable Milks and Algae Extract, it’s a soothing, smoothing treat for parched skin. If I was to buy the full size, I’d be more likely to go for the anti- aging version but this is useful to have for weekend trips as I know it will suit my skin and it’s beautifully scented with freesia and orange blossom, just like the other products they do. Just the smell makes me relax instantly!

Dr Botanicals Bergamot & Poppy Seed Body Exfoliating Bar

This smells absolutely glorious, and as soon as I cracked the lid of the box, you could get a waft. The black poppy seeds provide gentle exfoliation, plus this is packed with macadamia oil and Shea butter to leave skin silky.

With a beautiful, uplifting aroma, this is going to be such a treat to use, and for anyone searching out pampering vegan treats it’s ideal.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

These little pads have actually been one of my skin secret weapons for years now, and something I’ve bought on and off for years, so although they aren’t a new discovery, it’s a brand I have a lot of love for, and this travel pot is absolutely ideal for taking away in the summer.

They retexture and resurface the skin while giving it a radiance boost - the ideal toning treat. Alongside the Glycolic, there’s also super-hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and soothing Blue Daisy extract.

These are definitely a winner!

All this and a copy of Elle magazine included. I’m super impressed with my first LFBeauty box and I can see exactly why people seem to love them so much- the selection is excellently curated and the brands are outstanding. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
