Latest In Beauty Subscription Box 2021 Review

It’s always a nice feeling to get something lovely through the post, and beauty subscription boxes can be both a great pick-me-up and a fun way to discover new products.

Over the years I’ve tried most of them on and off, but one my favourites has always been Latest In Beauty

You get to pick your own products from a monthly edit, which ensures less waste as you know you’ll like everything you get.

I see a lot of people complaining about other sub services where they spend time filling in questionnaires that supposedly tailor the box to them, only to receive things they would never use.

Here, the choice is yours.

I left Latest In Beauty a couple of years ago because I wasn’t really inspired by the product selection, but recently they seem to have upped their game.

Now, there are exciting things to discover, better quality brands and I’m always excited to make my choice from the themed monthly drop.

This month’s edit was all about looking and feeling good - and couldn’t we all do with that right now?

Look Good Feel Better Detailed Eyeliner Brush

Look Good Feel Better Detailed Eyeliner Brush review

This was a little extra gift in my box, which is another nice thing about Latest In Beauty - you often get little bonus items. This is especially useful because I don’t have this kind of eyeliner brush in my collection.

This is ultra fine, so you can go for either a very precise line or something more statement. The synthetic bristles mean that it works well with cream and liquid formulas, or even powder if you like to use shadow as liner.

Look Good Feel Better is actually a global cancer charity that supports women to cope with the visible side effects of cancer treatment - something that is especially important to me as my mother recently died from complications of ovarian cancer.

A great cause and a brilliant, cruelty free product.

Sassy Shop Wax - Snow Pixie

Sassy Shop Wax - Snow Pixie review

I’m very much into scenting my home now that we’ve finally finished renovating it. Scent is an important tool to help us relax, and as we’re all currently forced to spend lots of time at home, it may as well smell beautiful and welcoming. Wax melts are a really easy way to do this.

Sassy Shop Wax is a small company and it’s really important to promote and support small businesses at the moment, so I couldn’t wait to try their wares.

Snow Pixie is one of their best selling bars, with notes of bubblegum, banana, pear drops, musk, vanilla and candyfloss.

It’s very different to other wax melt scents I’ve tried, and I like the colourful pink bar speckled with blue and white flakes.

It’s a relaxing treat with a really good scent throw - so I know where I will be heading to stock up on home scents from now on.

Vita Liberata Invisi Foaming Tan Water

Vita Liberata Invisi Foaming Tan Water review

My confession here is that I’m not much of a fake tanner (I know, I know, what kind of beauty blog is this?). It’s one area of makeup that I don’t actually know much about at all, and not something I use frequently. I’m just so scared of ending up bright orange!

I do use a gradual self tanning body lotion instead, which just tops me up over the winter and makes sure I don’t get too deathly pale.

And when I go out (remember when we used to do that?), one product I always reach for is the Vita Liberata Body Blur, which is a wash-off body makeup that gives a quick bit of bronze.

So I was intrigued to try their proper tanning products and see if I can get to grips with them.

This formula is packed with skin-caring botanical extracts, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid to give a hydrating and anti-aging tan. It goes on clear and is super fast drying so you can just apply and go. The tan develops over 4-6 hours.

Sampling something like this is the ideal way to try it out, as the full size is £25, so I wouldn’t purchase it unless I already knew I liked it!

Reviews say this gives a realistic olive colour with no streaks, so I’m looking forward to trying it out.

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser review

This is a brand I hear a lot about, and I recently tried their Banana Bright Eye Cream in the same range, so it’s great to be able to try something else from the line too.

The cleanser promises to strip off make-up - even waterproof formulas - dirt and oil, and leave an energised, glowing finish. It sounds perfect to me for those mornings where you just can’t quite wake up!

It’s got a gel creme texture which always feels nice to use, and an uplifting, purifying scent. I’m actually completely out of face wash right now so this came at a good time to try.

Thalgo Iles Pacifique Iridescent Island Milk

Thalgo Iles Pacifique Iridescent Island Milk review

Thalgo is one of those fancy salon brands - I once had a Thalgo facial - that you don’t really come across in the shops, but this lotion sounded too good not to try.

With notes of Monoi, it's a whole desert island vibe - probably the closest I’ll get this year! I do love a nice luxury moisturiser as a sensory treat after a hard day working and homeschooling, so I’m relying on this to transport me far away and make me feel pampered.

It also leaves a subtle iridescence on the skin to make limbs look polished.

Skin Chemists Rose Illuminating Glow Peel Off Mask

Skin Chemists Rose Illuminating Glow Peel Off Mask review

This time of year is dull, grey, cold and very hard on the skin, so I always take care to up my skincare regime and make more time for masks and treatments to compensate. Skincare is a serious business when you get to my age!

This mask aims to target dehydration, dullness and rough texture with skin renewing actives. The superfood Acai Berry and Chinese Peony work to remove dead skin cells and create a smoother, glowing, firmer complexion - what more could a girl want?

Smug Contoured 3D Sleep Mask - Cherry Blossoms

Smug Contoured 3D Sleep Mask - Cherry Blossoms review

Another great thing about Latest In Beauty is that there’s a real mix of products in each edit, so you don’t get too bored. I’ve seen everything from collagen drinks to shampoo bars recently.

I always wear an eye mask at night, as it helps me to sleep more deeply and get back to sleep easier if I get woken up by one of the kids. We also have a huge window in the bedroom that we never draw the curtains on as we’re not overlooked - so a sleep mask is useful in summer for blocking out the light.

I also do my own eyelash extensions, and a sleep mask helps them last longer and not shed during the night if you rub against the pillow. I alternate between a silk mask from Kitsch and a Smug one I already own.

I couldn’t resist getting a second one because they are great quality and I loved the beautiful cherry blossom pattern on this one.

I may actually gift this someone I know who is having a baby in May, because she’ll have to be snatching sleep here and there around the baby’s feeds, so it’s a useful thing to have.

So that was my beautiful selection this month from Latest In Beauty - have you tried any of these products?
