Ok people, we are only a couple of weeks away from Valentine’s Day.
Will you be doing anything special with your love? It might even just be a day to spend time with your girly friends and enjoy being single.
If you do have some gifts to buy, though, it can be hard to know what to buy. It is nice to be able to get your other half something special, but at the same time not spend a lot of money.
I am a sucker for Valentine’s day but I know that it is important to show love to them on more than just one set day a year. No harm in spreading a little love, though.
So here are a few Valentine’s day gift ideas...
So, we're racing through January. And although I've posted about why New Year's Resolutions don't work, how to set goals that stick and finding goals that will save you money and how to find your motivation, I haven't actually shared what my goals for the year are.
A lot of time has been spent thinking about this year, how I want it to be, what I want to get out of it. Instead of jumping right in, I've tried to figure it out properly, in the name of making lasting and sustainable change in areas that are meaningful to me.
And as I thought about it more and more, a thought jumped out at me. This is all about less. For most of us, our goals have been about more- how to get more, do more, achieve more. Have we ever stopped to smell the roses, to enjoy it all?
Every time a new mascara launches, I get excited. My dreams of astoundingly long, hyper real Disney Princess lashes will never die.
Every time I think this new formula could be the one for me. The one that will deliver volume, length and no clumps or splatters.
One mascara to rule them all.
For a while, I had individual lash extensions, so I didn't have a use for mascara, but I've reverted to bare lashes at the moment, so when I saw this new launch from Maybelline I took the plunge.
I'm no mascara snob and my head can be turned by drugstore and high end formulas alike. So I had high hopes for The Falsies Push Up Drama. But would it deliver?
If you’re trying to think of gifts, to buy your beauty and style obsessed friend, you’re in the right place.
The good news is that when it comes to picking out the perfect style and beauty gifts, there are plenty to choose from. So whatever she’s into, you should be able to find a pressie that’s perfect for her.
Plus, with so many options to choose from, no matter what your budget, you should be able to find a lovely gift.
Adding a bohemian feel to the home is something spiritual people love to do. You don’t even need to be spiritual to do it; it can add a magical, cosy feel to the home with plenty of texture and colour. This how to guide will tell you all you need to know:
Perhaps it was even your New Years Resolution to lose some weight?
Well this is the week that most people fall off the wagon, so in order to keep us all going, I'm going to be sharing a favourite recipe that tastes sinful but is really quite saintly! (Besides, this post explains why resolutions don't work and these two show how to set goals that stick and how to find motivation).

I don't usually share recipes on here, but these are so good. As part of my #Project2016 series, I'll be trying out some more healthy cooking treats and I'll be sharing some of the best ones here.
Dark chocolate and banana pancakes with syrup doesn't sound like something you should be able to eat without feeling guilty, but wait!!
Accessorizing your outfits is important if you want them to look complete and polished.
If you fail to accessorize properly, you can look like there’s something missing.
Plus, accessorizing is a lot of fun. It’s an opportunity to show off your personality with sentimental jewelry and specific styles that you like.
Use my tips and they’ll help you accessorize any outfit:
We all have aspirations in our lives, and the only way to improve our situation is to work hard for it.
However, it’s important to remember that money is at the heart of everything. The best way to upgrade your life is in an economical manner. No questions asked.
Different people have different life goals, but some items are far more common than others. Here are five that millions of people will be trying to achieve in 2016 and beyond.
Follow these tips and you should have to issues achieving those targets. Better still, your finances should remain in great health too.
What are you waiting for? Get started now, and 2016 can be your best year ever.
There are literally so many gadgets, aids and products aimed at parting new parents with their cash, and deciding what is worth the spend and what isn't is so hard.
Some items turn out to be amazing and you wonder how on earth you lived without them (nod to the Boba Air carrier, the Poddle Pod and my beloved SkipHop Duo Deluxe changing bag here, all of which I'll be reviewing) and some items are a big waste of money (looking at you, Moses basket and changing table).
Then we come to the items where I just kind of sit on the fence… And the Mamascarf is one of those.
If you're anything like me, motivation can be an absolute bitch, even when you clearly have a goal in sight.
What is this elusive thing called willpower, and where do we find it? How can we make ourselves take the steps we know we need to take in order to achieve something? Wherefore art thou, motivation?
So far, we've talked about why New Year's Resolutions don't work, and how to set goals that stick. So now I'd like to look at how to get moving on a plan when your spark is gone.
I used to say that Makeup Revolution was one of my favourite budget make-up brands.
Now I just say it's one of my favourite make-up brands full stop. Almost every single product I've tried from their range has performed amazingly (not just amazingly for the price). There have been a couple of things I didn't get on with, although I think that would be the case in any range, but mostly I've been wowed.
For beauty junkies, it's a cost effective way to grab a fix or try a new type of product. For make-up beginners its a way to gather a whole kit of great quality items.
Recently I treated myself to a couple of items for my collection, and this little kit was one of them.
The ‘Heroine’ collection would make an ideal little gift but I just bought it for myself, because I'm greedy like that! It was just £5. £5!!! I just couldn't resist at that silly price.
For the £5, you get a small make-up bag, a lipgloss and a mini eyeshadow palette. Absolutely great value and I already knew I'd love it.
Who doesn't love a beauty bargain?
Especially at this time of year after paying for Christmas!
I absolutely love the thrill of getting a great deal, so I always have my eyes open to great sales and clearance shelves.
Of course, to qualify as a bargain, something also has to be useful and great value for what it is. It's not about price - it's value for money, and that is a different thing entirely. So, a cheap dress is not a bargain if you wear it once and it needs chucking away.
When it comes to beauty, I like to use bargains either to stock up on something I already use regularly or to try something new out and see if it suits me.
My favourite hunting grounds are the clearance shelf at Boots (did you know Boots have these? They're usually hidden away somewhere quiet at the back of the store) and also supermarkets, who regularly mark down skincare and haircare products.
I found some great items there lately...
