OOTD | Floral & Sparkle | Family Garden Party

Monday 13 June 2016

The Queen isn't the only one celebrating her 90th birthday this year!

It's also my Nana's 90th birthday, so a whole crowd of my Dad's side of the family gathered in Lincolnshire to celebrate with a garden party.

She's a remarkable lady who has lived an incredible life including having seven children! That means that side of the family is absolutely vast and getting everyone together is extremely rare.

The tribe is spread far and wide, so it was the first time I had seen most of them since my Auntie's 60th party five years ago, and the first time any of them had met Theo.

It was amazing to be able to catch up with my cousins and to celebrate with my  Nana.

I decided to wear a favourite dress of mine at the moment, this grey quilted long sleeved shift, which was a find from online shop Boohoo.

It's a really nice shape but also super comfortable, which was important as I had a long drive to get to my uncle's house where the party was being held.

I dressed it up a little with some statement sparkling neck candy. I do love a bold necklace, mainly because it's an easy short cut to dress up a more casual outfit. Just pop on and shine!

A black cross body bag was a bit more of a daytime choice. I always use this Mini City tote when in shopping as its a great balance between smart and casual.

And I had to debut my fabulous new shoes! These floral print pumps add such a point of interest to a plainer look.

I don't tend to wear much pattern in my clothes so I really like using accessories to inject some. These were also super practical for a garden party as there was no sinking into the lawn...

I had to cut my head off this picture because my expression just looked ridiculous... I just can't get comfortable taking pictures of myself at the moment but I wanted to show what the outfit was like on.

The sun shone and we all had a marvellous day catching up. I think the best part was seeing my Dad showing Theo off to everyone, he was so proud!
