It might be a little late in the month to do a wishlist posting, but people seemed to like my last one (it's the most viewed post of that month on here) and I certainly always carry one around with me in my head, so I thought I'd share it!
I'm going to have to be a bit careful with the old pennies this month. As well as still saving up to cover moving costs (which feels doubly painful when there's no dream house to go to as yet!), I've splashed out this month on a new iPhone. I decided a while ago to take a smaller monthly payment rather than an upgrade on my phone contract, so I've been saving the pennies so that I can get a new handset. I know it will be a good decision in the long run and leave me free to swap when I want but it's been an expensive month buying it!
So, here is my March wishlist:
Nip + Fab Viper Venom Eye Fix
£14.95,nipandfab.com/shop/You'll probably know by now that I'm really into Nip + Fab products. I just think they're really effective, and there are a couple of items from the range that are firm favourites of mine already. So I don't know why I've never tried any of their eye products, considering I struggle with puffiness, fine lines and dark circles (all at once!) and my under-eyes are one of the worst things!
Viper Venom Eye Fix came in one of the beauty boxes this month (sadly, not one I subscribe to!) and I was really sad - I would so much rather have had this than what came in my rather lame Birchbox this month (see what that was), so it brought it front and centre to me.
This beauty is packed with great actives. It has wrinkle-minimising Liftonin and Syn-Ake, which is a neuropeptide chemical compound that mimics snake venom - this communicates with your nervous system to encourage muscle relaxation. And then there's Red Algae to reduce the appearance of your dark circles - so it's a triple whammy.
It comes with a cooling roller-ball applicator, and with so much tightening, line-minimising and dark circle busting stuff packed into it, it sounds ideal for me. Plus I trust Nip + Fab to deliver a quality product at reasonable prices.
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Lip Crayons
£4.99, barrym.comI've seen a few bloggers that were lucky enough to get samples get sent some of these to try (how I wish I was on that list). You know I feel strongly about things in a crayon form, and these look amazing.
There are five shades to choose from - all brights - and they look juicy and fabulous. They're moisturising and highly pigmented, and at that price I'd be keen to try out a few! My picks would be 'Capella', a cool-toned pink (pictured) and 'Alpha', which is red. These look like a total bargain and I will be making a beeline to pick some up soon!
Millie Mackintosh for Nouveau Lash
£8.99, shop.nouveaubeautygroup.comHands up, I'm a false flutter junkie. But time and age have made me pickier about which lashes I favour, and despite my drawer heaving with different types of lashes, I found that I'm always drawn back to the same ones. I love my lashes to look thick and full, but I don't want them to look impossible, or obviously fake. These lashes have caught my eye because they look great quality and perfect for a natural but enhanced look.
I'm a massive fan of Miss Mack's personal style and her make-up always looks radiant and never overdone, so I have faith that these lashes would mirror that - I know she wears them a lot, and I think she always looks the right side of enhanced (as she would say 'More Chelsea than Essex') and I respect that. There are 8 different styles in the range, all named after London locations of course. They're made of natural hair to give a more realistic look. I fancy trying the style 'Soho' which is a wispy but full style.
Eyesilix
£24.99, boots.comAnother eye product! Sorry, I'm a tad obsessed. I'm debating whether to pick up the Nip + Fab stuff, or this one, which is a fairly recent launch from Indeed Labs, who brought us the much-imitated Nanoblur, which is still the original and best of the optical blurring primers in my opinion.
This claims to be a wonder cream that instantly lifts, contours, brightens, eliminates dark circles and reduces fine lines and wrinkles (it actually ‘freezes’ the eye area muscles!). Again, more big claims but I have heard really good reviews about this, and I know I like Indeed Labs stuff. So I suppose the decider might be what is on offer when I venture to Boots!
Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Thickening Spray
£21.50, bumbleandbumble.co.ukI recently tried Bumble and Bumble's Thickening Hairspray in a travel size and was really impressed, so this new spin on it has got me intrigued. They call it a 'Translucent dry spray that creates instant fullness and texture to spin hair into an airy silhouette', and it sounds like just the lift my hair needs to get volume and that messy, undone look to it.
No7 Instant Radiance Foundation
£12.50, boots.comI've picked up a couple of products from No7 recently, and its come back onto my radar a lot. Suddenly, I'm discovering lots of appealing stuff at their counter, and their blush sticks have become a big favourite of mine since purchasing. While I was browsing at the counter, this foundation caught my eye and its one of the picks I want for spring. The packaging seems to have had a bit of a sleekover recently, so it's all looking much less mumsy, and this appealed to me. It's a light, sheer formulation that I've read is a great dupe for Chanel Vitalumiere.
Its packed with light-reflecting particles, SPF 15 and vitamins A and E and it won't block your pores - of course, No7 is famed for it's skincare, so I suspect this formula will be kind to tired out skin. Seems like a great way to get radiant, rested looking skin after the long winter.
Bare Minerals Prime Time BB
£21.00, bareminerals.co.ukBare Minerals is my HG foundation and I will never not have it in my kit as long as they make it! I do wear a BB cream plus a primer underneath, so this clever little product sounds like a win - its a BB and primer in one.
It claims to battle flakiness, oily patches, uneven skintone to provide the perfect canvas for your foundation. There's an SPF 30 in there too, which is really good.It seems like this would be a way to replace a few different products in my routine! I also want to start using their daily moisturiser when my current one runs out, and their new Lash Domination mascara also looks great sooo...I guess I'm a fan!
GlamGlow MudMask
£49.99, glamglowmud.co.ukThis one has been on the list for a while if I'm honest! But it is on the pricier side and it always seems to be something I can do without, so I've never purchased, but I keep eyeing it up. It's become a cult item and I've heard so many amazing things about it. It comes in a few variants now, but I want the original 'Youthmud' version. It claims to deliver both instant and cumulative results and just look at this whopping list of benefits:
- Skin Collagen Synthesis for a noticeable 3 day glow.
- Brighter, radiant skin in minutes.
- Leaves skin noticeably soft and smooth.
- Multi-level resurfacing exfoliation.
- Penetrates into the deepest layers of the skin to soften fine lines and wrinkles.
- Tightens, tones and lifts the skin.
- Relieves dark circles and minimises pores.
- Absorbs impurities without removing natural oils.
- Helps protect against everyday environmental aggressors.
So that's my March wishlist - what's on yours?
It's that time of the month when Payday seems like a distant dream. But of course my longing for pretty, shiny things hasn't decreased. So I'm contenting myself today by making a wishlist of all the items I neeeeeeed in my life at the moment.
Like most of the known blogosphere, I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brush line. I actually prefer them to Mac brushes because I think they wash better and I would seriously be lost without the Stippling Brush, which I've used every single day since buying it to apply my foundation.
So the news that they've now brought out some new additions to the line is music to my ears. Especially this super-cute retractable kabuki. I use Bare Minerals most of the time, so this would be useful for that and for on the go touch ups and travelling, both for base and for blushers/bronzers because of the angled head.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the pink casing. I'm not 12 and I'd much prefer a professional looking black or silver but as this brush is sure to be perfection in every other way, I still want it!
They've also brought out a retractable bronzer brush, a retractable lip brush and a silicone liner brush as well.
These gorgeous glossy stains in the distinctive blinged-out gold YSL packaging caught my eye a while ago, and I'm really wanting to try one out.
They're supposed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear but with a rich colour payoff times two - the initial glossy finish and the longer-lasting stain. I'm a sucker for anything with multiple benefits, so this product appeals to me enormously.
It's also meant to be moisturing which is a huge plus, as I can't stand things that dry out my kisser.
All the shades look beautiful, but the two really catching my eye are 15 Rose Vinyl, a dusky, mid-tone pink or 11 Rouge Gouache, a raspberry reddish pink. Heaven!
£10, asos.com
Blame Pinterest for starting my obsession with oversized tees with rolled armbands. The cooler-than-thou outfit postings there always seem to feature them! I love the way they can be used to dress down and give a grungier twist to items like bandage skirts and leather pants, which need to be treated carefully to successfully come off as cool rather than OTT.
Perhaps I'm showing my age, but introducing an offbeat element seems to be the key to looking don't-care sexy rather than try-hard. In the past, I was all about try-hard in one way or another, so I must be relaxing!
I see so many styling possibilities that I want one in every colour for my summer wardrobe -shorts, skinnies, minis, it would go with everything...
I'm a big fan of Nip + Fab products. Created by Marcia Kilgore (of the pricey but lush Bliss Spa) they are fairly priced and bring spa levels of technical innovation into your home routine easily. The Glycolic Fix discs are a staple of my routine and work wonderfully well.
Now they've launched a new line of anti-aging products based on bee venom (which the gossip rags reliably inform me is behind Duchess Kate's glow). This intrigues me. I wanted to try Rodial's Bee Venom line, but its way pricey and its hard to part with that much cash without knowing something works. Nip + Fab's launch is a way to try it, which is great.
This cream brightens and tackles the signs of aging around the eyes with:
Peptides - which any skincare expert worth their salt agrees are the key to anti-aging, one of the few ingredients that really, truly works
Bee Venom - to control the facial muscles and increase blood circulation by plumping and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
Propolis Extract - a resin-like substance harvested by bees on flower buds and a great skin healer, anti-oxidant (repairer of environmental damage) and antiseptic
Cocoa Butter - with fatty acides that improve moisture levels and elasticity
Shea Butter - to help strengthen skin and repair damage
Tegocosmo - never heard of it, but apparently a skin brightener that fades age spots
Elestan - for firmer, more elastic skin
Sounds bloody amazing. Sign me up!!!
While I wouldn't normally be a fan of anything with a low-rent celebrity brand name slapped on, I doubt the ever-dysfunctional reality sisters have actually had much to do with designing this despite the claims.
Whatever I might think of her, I actually do rate Kim's style - she's a fan of bold shapes and clean cuts, much like myself but with a mahooosive budget. If I could afford Celine and Givenchy rather than Zara and Topshop, I'm sure we'd go for a few of the same pieces.
However, I have fallen deeply in love with this gorgeous white midi dress. No, I don't need it but I certainly do want it. I don't even know where I'd wear it, but I love the cut, the length and the spaghetti strap-ness. I think it looks bombshell with dark hair and a few curves. This would be a stupid purchase because I have nowhere to wear it (not that that's ever stopped me before), but I'm oh so tempted to get it as a 'treat' for all my recent exercise.
I'm on a bit of a skincare trip at the moment, and have been looking into several different lines with the intention of upping my skincare game, as per one of my New Years Resolutions. This serum sounds amazing...
It boasts 'powerful correcting ingredients' to 'stimulate cellular repair' and 'reduce pigmentation'. Basically it helps your skin to be a more perfect version of itself, and who wouldn't want that? It also has 'golden and red pearls' which I believe have a corrective appearance on the skin as well.
I'm torn between this one and the Nuxe Serum Merveillance, so do let me know if you've used either and what you think!
There's a handbag brand called Popkors from Korea that you can buy on eBay. I've had a few of their bags in the past and been really impressed with the quality and the innovative design.
So when I saw this little beauty I knew I would love it. It's a pouch bag with three zipped sections that snap together, and has a long strap that can be a shoulder bag or cross body.

I just love the simplicity of the design and the flexibility of it - you could keep one section for make-up and tissues etc, one for phone, keys and wallet and one for other stuff, and snap them on and off as needed.
The embossing on the front says 'Evada Premium Paris' which makes no sense, but it looks good. I want one!
I wasn't lying when I said that this might be a bit of a skincare special. Another of the lines I've been looking at using is Clinique. I've used their serum occaisionally and eyecream once, but I've never really stuck to anything continuously and obviously when looking at skincare, its one of the big counter brands that is an obvious choice.
Clinique claim that this cream can help to slow the ageing process (which has recently become a concern of mine) and decrease the look of lines and wrinkles. Clinique never seem to say much about the active ingredients in their products - I'd like to use something with retinol in- but user reviews for this product are pretty good. It might be the place to start my serious skincare journey.
Nail brand Ciate has just launched a new line of polish removers, all scented like chocolate! Heaven for those of us who dislike the smell of polish remover (my husband says it gives him a headache).
There's dark, mint, orange and white versions to work your way through. The pretty bottle is also appealing (and its glass for an extra touch of luxe), while the formula is gentle and kind to nails with Vitamins B5 and E and no ammonia.
Sounds like a dream!Certainly an upgrade from my usual Boots own brand stuff.
Continuing on from last year's lipgloss launch, Blush Exclusif is a blush with a difference - it adjusts to the PH balance of your skin to create the perfect shade of pink for your skintone.
In itself, this isn't anything new - Smashbox O-Glow and L'Oreal Blush Maqique both do the same - but instead of a gel, its a cream to powder blush. It's also way cheaper than either of the above! Bourjois is probably my favourite drugstore brand, the packaging is cute and its all great quality stuff.
I have problems finding a pink to suit my skintone - I love a rosy cheek, but it can look too fake and dolly on my golden toned skin. I tend to suit apricot blushes at most or just bronzer, usually. But with spring coming, I really want to find a pink cheek that works for me. This could be it!
So that's my little wishlist for now, what are you dreaming of come payday?

So that's my little wishlist for now, what are you dreaming of come payday?
Here are the five items that I'm dying to try:
Daniel Sandler Super Mineral Makeup Foundation
I've actually wanted to try this for quite a while, and somehow never have! But after running out of Lumi Magique the other day, I'm wanting a new liquid foundation in my base wardrobe, and I've remembered this. I love Daniel Sandler products. They're freely available online, but hard to track down in real life (the nearest stockist to me is over an hour's drive away), and although I'd be happy to order almost any other product on spec, with foundation you need to know it matches your skintone before you buy! But I might just have to take the plunge. The Daniel Sandler website does offer a sample service at a small cost, which I have used before, but all of the shades I ordered were wrong, so it was a complete waste.
However, I still really want to try this make-up. It's meant to be lightweight but still with a good coverage, full of skin-loving anti-oxidants and minerals, and obviously, SPF15 which is always good. I love the sleek packaging as well. This product seems to have been discontinued, but you can still find it selling for half price on the Daniel Sandler website, so I'm planning to give it a whirl
Revlon Baby Stick Blush
This lightweight, gel cream blush and lip colour is a new launch from Revlon. They're part of a new line from the make-up artist and brand ambassador Gucci Westman. Although I have read a few early reviews on blogs that are fairly disappointed with these as despite their bright outward appearance, they are apparently extremely sheer with low colour pay off. That aside, I still want to try these for some reason. Reviews seem to favour the bright pink shade (Pink Passion), so I think I will be trying these.
La Roche-Posay Cleansing Gel and Physiological Toner
Lately, I've been wanting to spice up my usual cleansing routine and try some new products, and French pharmacy brand La Roche-Posay (now available in Boots) has caught my eye. It's supposed to be particualrly good for sensitive skin - which I don't have- but also has lines for other skin types, including the anti-aging line which I'm most interested in. The cleanser is free of soap, colourants, alcohol and parabens for a cleanse that respects the PH balance of your skin, while also being thorough.
Nails Inc Feather polish
Nails Inc is my favourite polish line, and they always seem to be the innovators in new nail treats, which is brilliant. A month or so ago, they launched a line of feather polishes, which uses a short bar matte particle to give a pretty, feather like effect on the nail. Although I'd say the effect, to me, is more 'mohair jumper', I still want to try these polishes.I'm after the shade 'Brighton', which an on-trend mix of pastel greens and yellows. Super cute packaging as well.
