OOTD: The LBD | Luxemme Dress Review

Monday 8 February 2016

Can a girl ever have too many little black dresses? I'm of the opinion that's a definite no! Timeless, classic, stylish and with the adaptability to be dressed up or down LBDs endure as we can make them a mirror to reflect our changing lives and style - the perfect, flattering blank canvas.

Important meeting? LBD. Hot first date? LBD. Coffee with friends? LBD.

Long live little black dresses!

So today I'm trying out a new one from a cutting edge brand - the Anita from fast fashion label Luxemme.

Luxemme are a new online fashion retailer. Their ethos is inspired by Parisian chic, but they come from a bit closer to home - the mean (and very fashionable) streets of Manchester.

Their Limited Edition range is worn by celebs and bloggers alike - you can see a gallery of favourite looks on their website. I loved that they are inspired by bloggers, Instagram girls and the street style around us to create new twists on current looks.

Their edit is focused and well put together, with a variety of dresses and co-ords. I couldn's wait to try this Anita high neck LBD swing dress.

The dress is made of a soft, silky chiffon and features a high, spaghetti strap halterneck that is pleated to drape, a slip under layer and two angled straps that make a feature of the back. It has a beautiful flow and fluidity on the body, skimming over the bits you don't like nicely!

The dress felt light and airy on, and its gentle, draped shape was really flattering. I haven't dropped all my baby weight yet so I'm a little self conscious at the moment, but the shape of this dress made me feel good.

To give it a personal twist, I styled it up for a grunge vibe with some black ankle boots with clear perspex heels and a long, textured burgundy cardigan. The dress is really versatile, so you could easily style it with heels and a blazer for a smarter feel, or black opaque tights and leopard flats for a casual look.

If you love to discover new British fashion labels, Luxemme is definitely one to know about. This dress is from their Anita Kaushik celebrity range and there are similar styles available in prints as well, if you prefer a bit of pattern.

And if you hate being seen in the same outfits as everyone else, check out their Exclusive Limited Edition range - only 25 of each piece are made available, so you really can feel special!

Despite bags of style and great designs, prices are also reasonable, coming in at under the £40 mark for most items. So you can treat yourself to a limited edition piece at a bank manager friendly price - what's not to love?

How would you style this little black dress? Do you like the idea of limited styles? Is it cool to take a street style led approach to design? Let me know what you think.

This is a sponsored post. All products reviewed on this page were sent to me complimentary from Luxemme. I only recommend products or services I try personally and believe my readers will enjoy. All opinions are my own.
