OOTN: Ellie Goulding Concert

Thursday 6 March 2014

A quick outfit of the night post from last night.

I went to see Ellie Goulding in concert at the Capital FM arena. I was really excited as she’s been one of my favourite singers for ages. I saw her a few years ago in a very small venue, so it was amazing to see how she’s progressed to being this big star that sells out arena venues. The place was heaving!

I was lucky enough to be invited into a VIP box and it was so cool (how the other half live!) We had our own little suite with a viewing balcony and free food and drinks, which was lovely. I must admit I haven’t been to a big tour like this in many a year, most of the artists I like are normally on a much smaller scale. It was sold out and rammed to the rafters with Ellie fans!

Black, white and gold snakechain necklace – Topshop
Black suede wedge ankle boots – Primark

I did my hair with the Diva Big Waves, which gives really pretty mermaid style waves, a bit like oversized crimps! You can also use it as a jumbo barrelled curler, and the ceramic plates are infused with argan oil, so it’s a pretty good tool.

The lighting isn't great in these pictures to see my make-up, but I just had black smokey cat-eyes, done with the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and 24/7 Liner in 'Crave', Chanel Vitalumiere base and Mac Huggable Lipstick in 'Fresh and Frisky', which is like a nude peach shade.

I had such a nightmare getting there though. I stupidly decided to drive in and park at the nearest car park- huge mistake!

I had to queue for 40 minutes to get to the entrance and just as I pulled up to the barrier the guard said ‘Sorry, we’re full!’. There were cars circling around in there that they shouldn’t have let in. The guard must have taken pity on how frazzled I looked,  because when someone who had been parked came out, he said I could go in anyway and take a chance to see if I could find her space before anyone else circling around….and I did!

Unfortunately, I was in such a rush to get parked up I pulled too far forward and hit the front of my car against the wall of the car park! It made a huge ‘bang’ and I thought I’d written the thing off -  but luckily when I went to check there was no damage and the bumper must have taken the shock….phew!

After all that, I’ll be taking the bus next time! But the concert was really good and Ellie looked and sounded amazing. My favourites were ‘Animal’. ‘Starry Eyed’ and ‘Lights’ where everyone was stood up dancing. We licensed one of her songs to use in an advert I produced recently so of course when that she sang that track we all went a bit crazy!
